SOYUZ 2.1B SUCCESSFULLY DEPLOYS RASSVET-3 CONSTELLATION BATCH
Russia's Federal Space Agency (ROSCOSMOS) successfully launched 16 Rassvet-3 satellites aboard a Soyuz 2.1b rocket on July 19, 2026. The satellites form part of the Byuro-1440 constellation, an ambitious initiative designed to provide broadband high-speed internet access across Russia. Each Rassvet-3 satellite operates in low Earth orbit, contributing to the nation's efforts to expand digital connectivity to remote and underserved regions.
The mission lifted off from Plesetsk Cosmodrome in northwestern Russia, one of the country's primary launch facilities for polar and high-inclination orbital missions. The Soyuz 2.1b vehicle, a reliable workhorse of the Russian space program, proved well-suited for the mass deployment task, carrying the 16-satellite payload to its designated polar orbit.
The launch proceeded without reported complications, marking a successful addition to the growing Byuro-1440 constellation.
