Arianespace secures six more Ariane 64 missions for Amazon Leo

Arianespace and Amazon Leo announced at France’s International Space Summit in Paris on 9 September 2026 that Amazon Leo has purchased six additional Ariane 64 launches. The buy raises Amazon’s contracted Ariane 6 missions with Arianespace from 18 to 24 and makes the Ariane 64 variant a continuing part of Amazon’s deployment plan for its low Earth orbit broadband constellation.

Italian site AstroSpace adds scheduling details: the six new Ariane 64 missions will begin in 2029 and continue through 2031, and all launches will lift off from Europe’s Guiana Space Centre in Kourou, French Guiana. According to AstroSpace, the partnership entered an operational phase in 2026: Arianespace completed three Ariane 64 missions for Amazon in the first five months of 2026 that together carried 100 satellites. AstroSpace lists the first Ariane 64 flight LE-01 as occurring on 12 February 2026 with 32 satellites, LE-02 on 30 April 2026 with another 32 satellites, and LE-03 on 17 June 2026 with 36 satellites — the latter reportedly benefited from debuting upgraded P160C solid boosters, which ArianeGroup says increase payload capacity by around two tonnes compared with the earlier P120C boosters.
